DPF ISSUES ?

These are images of fault codes that were present on a diesel vehicle that we had in today. The car was in 'limp' mode which means it will only drive with a limited amount of power in order to protect the engine. After

diagnosing the faults it was found that 'pilot error' was the cause (only using the vehicle for short journeys). Basically a diesel needs to be taken on a motorway run regularly in order for the soot deposits in the dpf to be burnt off. There is also a phase called 'dpf regeneration' that occurs when driving on a motorway or on a long run. This is a program that burns off the soot deposits. The best way to preserve your diesel vehicle is to take it on a long run regularly and use premium fuels when you fill up at the station !
